We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive and dynamic therapy team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with experience managing a caseload and working with autistic young people or individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Role Highlights:

  • Lead and develop Speech and Language Therapy practices.
  • Manage a caseload of young people with complex needs, including assessment, intervention planning, and progress review.
  • Line-manage a small team of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Plan and deliver training to enhance colleagues’ knowledge and skills in autism and communication.
  • Deliver specialist interventions using evidence-based therapy approaches, including low- and high-tech AAC, social communication, understanding, and expression.
  • Contribute to reviews, providing high-quality written reports and assessments.
  • Liaise with external professionals to ensure consistency of therapy plans.
  • Participate in ongoing service improvement projects and manage therapy-specific equipment and resources.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy with HCPC registration
  • Experience managing a caseload as a qualified SaLT
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills for assessment and intervention planning
  • Experience mentoring or coaching colleagues
  • Ability to use assessment findings to develop tailored therapy programmes
  • Knowledge of a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for autistic young people with complex needs
  • Previous experience in education or residential care settings
  • Experience managing a small team
  • Training in autism-specific approaches (e.g., TEACCH, intensive interaction, attention autism)
  • Sub-speciality SaLT training
  • Experience delivering training

Scheduling: Full-time and part-time considered. Salary: up to £46,000 – 53,000. Full UK driving licence required.
