A progressive and supportive small animal practice in Berkshire is seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. This opportunity is ideal for a vet who values both high-quality clinical care and a healthy work‑life balance.
The successful candidate will become part of a welcoming team of 5 Vets, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 PCAs, and a fantastic client care team. The practice is proudly Silver Cat Friendly Accredited, with a separate Cat Clinic dedicated to feline consults and procedures. Colleagues bring a wide variety of interests to the team, including internal medicine, surgery, feline medicine, and fear‑free approaches, with an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine and others currently pursuing certificates.
Based in a well‑connected part of Berkshire, the practice offers the best of both worlds – a short journey into central London, close to Windsor and Heathrow, and under two hours from the south coast, while still benefiting from the charm of a local community setting.
The practice has served its community for more than 50 years, combining experienced staff with excellent facilities. Equipment includes laparoscopy, endoscopy, digital X‑rays, a dedicated dental suite with radiography, and even a separate cat‑only building. Alongside cats, dogs, and rabbits, the caseload covers a range of small mammals and birds, keeping every day varied and interesting.
The practice also prides itself on community outreach – working with local charities and schools to support animal welfare and inspire the next generation of veterinary professionals.
This role suits a confident team player with strong interpersonal skills and excellent clinical standards. The position includes a balance of consults and surgery, with some sole charge on Saturdays and evenings. A proactive approach, growth mindset, and a genuine passion for collaboration and patient care are key.
