What you’ll be doing
As one of our Volunteer Photographers you will be offered opportunities within reasonable travelling distance to your location on an ad hoc basis. We will send you a full brief of the activity and the imagery needed, and provide you with a Young Lives vs Cancer t‑shirt and an ID badge to make sure you’re recognisable as our representative. You will need to be able to send us the photos as soon as possible after the event. Your photos will be used in marketing/promotions, to share stories, to thank supporters, and to raise awareness of our important work. The photos you create will be fully credited to you.
Why we need you
Are you passionate about photography and making a difference in the lives of children, young people and families facing cancer? We want more people to understand our work and are looking for volunteer photographers who can join the team. By documenting our events, activities, and special moments, you'll play a crucial role in raising awareness and support for our mission to fight childhood cancer. Your photographs will not only tell powerful stories but also help us connect with our supporters and the community, making a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
You’ll have a dedicated volunteer manager to support you and make sure you have everything you need to carry out your role with confidence.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer it threatens everything, for them and their family. At a time when they should be busy being children, enjoying their rollercoaster teenage years or finding their feet at uni, life becomes full of fear. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, mental health stretched to breaking point, and no one to turn to. At Young Lives vs Cancer we understand the challenges and work hard to ensure each family has what they need to get through cancer. We offer financial grants, help families navigate hospital services, provide free Homes from Home near treatment centres, and raise families’ voices within the system. Children and young people with cancer deserve the same opportunities as anyone else, and we’ll always have their back because we’ve been there before. Powered by the kindness of our supporters, we’ll face it all together.
