Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Engineer team, focusing on key projects across the East Midlands, including Peterborough (Hospital), Leicester (Pepsi R&D Facility), and Northampton (roof projects for International Academy), with additional projects as needed. This is a 12-month contract with the potential to become permanent, offering excellent career prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design management for multiple projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Assess project requirements, develop plans, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage design processes across various sites in the East Midlands.
- Work independently, hitting the ground running with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet technical and client specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager in engineering or construction projects.
- Ability to assess, plan, and manage complex design projects with confidence and autonomy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to provide clear project updates.
- Willingness to travel across the East Midlands (Peterborough, Leicester, Northampton) as required.
- Not a project manager transitioning to design work; must have established design management expertise.
- Comfortable with a hybrid working model (3 days in Coalville office, some home and site-based work).
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid Role: 3 days per week in the office (Coalville, LE67 3HP), with a mix of home working and site visits.
- Travel: Regular travel to project sites in the East Midlands. No mileage paid for commuting or site visits.
Contract Duration
- Initial 12-month contract with the potential to transition to a permanent role.
