We are looking for a project quality engineer to join our team and help ensure the highest of standards of quality across some of the most exciting engineering projects in the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Attend internal design and external quality meetings to facilitate QC requirements
- Assess product specifications and customer requirements
- Generate manufacturing specifications from client’s requirements
- Generate overarching Inspection & Test Plans for projects
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards
- Ensure procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated, and that product modifications are investigated if necessary
- Liaise and manage with customer QC to facilitate all of the QA requirements on a project
- Perform internal and supplier audits against project requirements
- Carry out manufacturing inspections on suppliers’ premises
- Expedite suppliers to ensure approval and final documents are received on time
- Act as key contact with customers’ auditors and take responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers’ specifications
- Assess suppliers’ product specifications, quality plans & ITP’s
- Check drawing for manufacturability
- Update the quality system as and when required
- Write project quality requirements from client specifications
- Knowledge of statistics is required with general numeracy, coupled with good interpersonal skills. The job function covers all aspects of a work group's or company’s operation and requires the ability to assimilate and analyse information
- Thorough understanding of the mechanical and electrical handling industry
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience of working within a Quality Team
- Experience with compiling LTQR’s and other Quality related documents
- Have a systematic and disciplined approach to work; ability to plan, schedule and monitor own work within limited and defined timescales
- Excellent communication skills with clients and staff at all levels
- Fluent with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
