About the Role
Bridgestone Group is partnering with a leading manufacturer based in South Wales to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead maintenance activities, drive continuous improvement, and serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities and ensure asset health
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimise downtime
- Contribute to process optimisation and proactive maintenance routines
- Liaise with cross‑functional teams to integrate predictive maintenance insights
- Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and lead root cause analysis
- Promote compliance with QHSE policies and standards
- Coach and mentor technicians to build a proactive maintenance culture
Shift Pattern
Day Shift, Monday to Friday
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Proven ability to lead maintenance operations and drive improvements
- Hands‑on problem‑solving approach and excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and preventative maintenance compliance
- Knowledge of EAM systems and predictive maintenance techniques
