Key Responsibilities
- Support the manufacture of complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Act as the link between design engineering and production operations.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and quality controls.
- Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
- Specify and design tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to support assembly and testing operations.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of the Quality Engineer to maintain consistent production standards.
Candidate Profile
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production engineering role within a mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of working at the interface between design and production.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, assembly, and system integration for mechanical/electrical products.
- Excellent process documentation, planning, and quality management skills.
- Confident in applying root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
- Experience with product or system testing.
- Familiarity with regulated industry standards (e.g. aerospace, defence, automotive, medical).
- Experience specifying or commissioning test rigs, fixtures, or production tooling.
