Mechanical Design Engineer – Outside IR35

Type: Full-Time

The Role

This is a contract role expected to last between 6 – 12 months with the successful candidate will be designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Generate engineering drawings.
• Perform engineering design calculations, e.g., tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Prepare engineering design reports.
• Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
• Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
• Proficiency in NX software is essential.
• Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
• Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping and structures is essential.
• Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
