Mechanical Design Engineer - Outside IR35

The Role
This is a contract role expected to last between 6 – 12 months with the successful candidate will be designing a range of fabrications and static components used in turbomachinery applications.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Generate engineering drawings.
- Perform engineering design calculations, e.g., tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Prepare engineering design reports.
- Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering.
- Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
- Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
- Proficiency in NX software is essential.
- Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
- Experience designing turbomachinery static components, casings, piping and structures is essential.
- Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
