Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver engineering projects from concept through design, execution, and handover
- Apply sound engineering judgement to complex technical, operational, and commercial challenges
- Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, contractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, British Standards, and health & safety requirements
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and documentation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and performance
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and technicians
- Contribute to project planning, cost control, scheduling, and risk management
- Liaise with external stakeholders, suppliers, and regulatory bodies as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BEng or MEng) in Engineering or a related discipline
- 7-15+ years' experience in an engineering role within industrial, manufacturing, construction, energy, infrastructure, or technology environments
- Strong technical expertise within your engineering discipline
- Experience working to UK legislation, British Standards, and industry codes of practice
- Proven ability to manage or significantly contribute to complex engineering projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward chartership preferred
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software, tools, and systems
