- Compensation: $15 - $18 per hour based on location, experience, responsibilities, and performance.
Role Overview: We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading global player in the AI space. This remote, part‑time contract role sits at the intersection of academic rigor and technical precision. You will be responsible for editing and refining AI‑generated content related to history, literature, philosophy, and the arts. Your goal is to apply the structure and clarity of technical editing to complex humanities subjects, ensuring the model's outputs are not only factually accurate but also structured, logical, and adherent to strict academic style guides.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit AI‑generated essays, summaries, and analyses for clarity, conciseness, and logical flow, treating complex humanities topics with the precision of technical documentation.
- Rigorously fact‑check historical dates, philosophical definitions, literary attributions, and citations to ensure absolute accuracy in the training data.
- Standardize content according to specific academic style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, MLA, APA), ensuring consistent formatting of footnotes, bibliographies, and headers.
- Design prompts that test the AI’s ability to synthesize information from multiple sources without becoming wordy or ambiguous.
- Identify “hallucinations” or vague generalizations in humanities text and rewrite them to be specific, evidence‑based, and authoritative.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical editing, academic editing, or instructional design, with a strong background in a Humanities discipline (History, Philosophy, Literature, etc.).
- Deep familiarity with major academic style guides (CMS, APA, MLA) and the ability to apply them strictly.
- Ability to distill dense, complex information into clear, easy‑to‑understand language without losing nuance.
- Meticulous attention to detail regarding syntax, grammar, and factual verification.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing time across multiple projects.
Compensation and Benefits
- Rate: Earn up to $18 USD/hr (Rates vary based on project complexity and expertise).
- Flexibility: 100% remote with no fixed schedule. Contributors typically spend 5–10 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours.
