The Role
The firm is seeking an experienced Disputes Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join its Chelmsford office. This is a key role handling complex and varied contentious matters, advising clients on strategy, and taking responsibility for cases from instruction through to resolution. You will also play an active role in the continued growth and development of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on commercial and contractual disputes, debt recovery and related matters
- Managing litigation from pre-action stage through to trial
- Drafting pleadings, agreements, and correspondence
- Representing clients in mediation, arbitration and other forms of ADR
- Providing pragmatic, commercial advice on risks, strategy and likely outcomes
- Building lasting client relationships and generating new opportunities
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting their development
- Contributing to business development and networking initiatives
The Candidate
- Solicitor with 5+ PQE
- Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Excellent communication and client care
- Commercially minded with the ability to manage a busy caseload
- Proactive, team-focused, and able to work independently
