Job Title: Warehouse & Transport Manager
Location: Belfast
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager

Role Purpose

To oversee all warehouse and transport operations, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, picking, dispatch, and delivery of products. The Warehouse & Transport Manager will lead teams across both functions, maintain stock accuracy, ensure fleet compliance, and drive continuous improvement to support business growth and service commitments.

Warehouse Operations

  • Manage daily warehouse workflows including goods-in, stock control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Maintain high standards of stock accuracy and product handling.
  • Ensure warehouse layout and processes support efficiency and safe product flow.
  • Enforce, review, and update warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Sales teams to support demand planning and promotional activity.

Transport & Distribution

  • Lead delivery operations including route planning, scheduling, vehicle loading, and dispatch.
  • Manage delivery drivers to ensure punctual, professional, and customer-focused service.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance, MOTs, insurance, servicing, and compliance checks.
  • Monitor tachographs, driver hours, and compliance with transport legislation.
  • Control fuel usage, delivery costs, and route optimisation.
  • Build strong customer relationships through reliable and flexible delivery performance.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and motivate warehouse operatives and drivers.
  • Create staffing rotas, manage attendance, and support training and development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage KPIs across warehouse and transport teams.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused working culture.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with warehouse, workplace, and transport health & safety standards.
  • Conduct audits, vehicle inspections, walkarounds, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant warehouse and yard environment.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions.

Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate data across Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
  • Produce reports covering stock accuracy, delivery performance, fleet efficiency, and labour productivity.
  • Support digital improvements, automation, and process optimisation initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Reduce waste, improve accuracy, and enhance service levels.
  • Support business growth initiatives and seasonal planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–5+ years experience in warehouse, logistics, or transport management.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, routing, and fleet management systems.
  • CPC qualification (advantageous).
  • Forklift certification (desirable).
  • Experience within FMCG, food, or confectionery sectors is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational capability.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
