Buyer role in Dorset. Salary: £34,000 DOE. Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday.

Are you an experienced Buyer with a sharp eye for cost control, supplier relationships, and stock optimisation? This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role where you'll ensure the smooth and efficient procurement of raw materials, while keeping quality and compliance at the heart of everything you do.

What you'll be doing

  • Purchasing raw materials at the most cost-effective prices, ensuring security of supply.
  • Selecting, evaluating, and managing approved suppliers in line with c-GMP guidelines.
  • Negotiating supplier terms and pricing, driving year-on-year cost savings.
  • Coordinating raw material inventory across multiple sites to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitoring and maintaining accurate stock control procedures, including production returns and daily reconciliations.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of ERP systems (Winman).
  • Liaising with internal teams and suppliers on lead times, deliveries, and any quality issues.
  • Ensuring all activities adhere to c-GMP standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally within a manufacturing or c-GMP environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and supplier relationship management experience.
  • Excellent organisational and stock control skills, with the ability to manage multiple sites.
  • Confident using ERP systems and comfortable working with data and reporting.
  • A proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
