Overview

Join NHS Property Services Ltd as a Colleague Relations Advisor. This is a hybrid role with two days per week in the Stockport office. You will empower managers, solve complex employee relations challenges, and contribute to fair outcomes by providing trusted guidance on a range of ER cases.

You will be the first port of call for managers, offering clear, confident advice delivered primarily via telephone to navigate challenges, build capability, and ensure consistent application of policies.

Responsibilities

  • Answer manager queries on colleague relations issues in a timely, policy- and legislation-aligned manner via telephone.
  • Coach and empower managers to make informed, fair, and lawful decisions in handling employee relations issues.
  • Assist managers with administration and quality completion of CR correspondence, ensuring accuracy and colleague-focused decisions.
  • Manage your own caseload within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Collaborate with Colleague Relations and People Business Partner teams to triage complex cases that could involve risk to the organisation, such as TUPE, redundancy or discrimination cases.
  • Support managers with coaching and guidance to enable quality Occupational Health referrals.
  • Apply ER advisory experience to case handling and ensure understanding of Employment Tribunal and Employment Law practises.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Colleague Relations (ER) advisory experience.
  • Previous case management experience including complex cases.
  • Experience working in a telephony-based advisory service.
  • People qualification (minimum CIPD level 3); Level 5 desirable but not essential.
  • Proven history of managing all types of ER cases (e.g., disciplinary, grievance, absence, flexible working, family-friendly, performance).
  • Understanding of Employment Tribunal and Employment Law practises.
