The role sits within the wider transactional derivatives and structured products team, focusing on Strategic Equities transactions. The firm advises on the full range of strategic equity solutions including stake building, financing, hedging, and disposal strategies. You will work with leading financial institutions and financial investor/fund clients, providing innovative and practical solutions. The majority of Strategic Equities work is international, high-profile, and time-sensitive, with direct client contact and collaboration across the firm.
Our Derivatives and Structured Products group in London comprises 11 Partners, 34 Lawyers, and 7 trainees; a smaller team is led by 2 partners focusing on Strategic Equities work.
Responsibilities include working on international, high-profile matters; collaborating with other practice areas and offices; and contributing to the delivery of market-leading derivatives and structured products advice.
We are interested in candidates who have mid-level experience in Strategic Equities and a solid grounding in other transactional derivatives and structured products. Working knowledge of ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, and LMA-based products, as well as English law security principles, is required. Ability to review foreign law security arrangements and experience with legal opinions is advantageous. Additional exposure to OTC fixed income, credit and equity derivatives, asset-backed securities, repackaging programs, collateral documentation and structures, repos, stock loans, and related notes is welcome.
We welcome candidates from private practice or relevant in-house experience, including those with experience in other leading financial centers outside London.
