Dissertation Supervisor – Business & Tourism
We are seeking experienced Dissertation Supervisors to support our vision of changing lives through education at GEDU Global Education.
Salary: £250 per student, covering supervision, feedback, marking, and ad‑hoc meetings.
Department: Academic partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU).
Locations: London (West and East), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds – on‑site.
Responsibilities
- Support up to 20 project students, providing 10 hrs of supervision plus marking time per student.
- Guide students in defining research questions, choosing methodologies, reviewing literature, and drafting conclusions.
- Advise on research ethics, methodology, statistical analysis and academic writing conventions.
- Provide structured feedback on drafts, monitor progress and ensure compliance with PSRB standards.
- Maintain regular contact, encourage independent thinking, address academic or personal challenges.
- Create inclusive, supportive learning environments for diverse mature and widening‑participation students.
- Travel to campuses and be available for occasional weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
- Master’s level degree or higher in Business or Tourism Management.
- Documented experience in academic research and dissertation supervision.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, statistical programmes and secondary data analysis.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.
- Understanding of research ethics and academic writing conventions.
- Passion for higher education and working with diverse mature students.
- Good IT skills with Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- External examiner experience.
- Relevant industry experience.
