Business Development Manager – Clinical Services (Insourcing)

Location: UK-wide / Hybrid

Salary: Competitive + bonus

An established and growing clinical services and insourcing provider is seeking a senior Business Development Manager to support the continued expansion of its specialist clinical services portfolio.

This is a senior, hands‑on role suited to someone with a strong NHS, insourcing, or clinical services background, who understands how contracted clinical services are designed, mobilised, and delivered within NHS environments.

The Role

You will play a key role in driving growth across a portfolio of NHS‑facing clinical services, including insourcing models and specialist mental health assessment pathways (e.g. ADHD / Autism). Working closely with senior stakeholders, commissioners, and provider trusts, you will identify new opportunities, develop sustainable partnerships, and support the design and mobilisation of high‑quality clinical pathways. As the service continues to scale, this role offers genuine scope to influence strategy and progress into broader commercial or divisional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new NHS insourcing and clinical service opportunities
  • Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with NHS Trusts, commissioners, and healthcare partners
  • Lead the full business development lifecycle, from early engagement through to contract award and mobilisation
  • Support the development and expansion of contracted clinical pathways, ensuring services are scalable and operationally robust
  • Work closely with internal teams including operations, finance, bids, and senior leadership to deliver successful outcomes
  • Represent the organisation at NHS forums, industry events, and external stakeholder meetings
  • Monitor commercial performance and contribute to strategic planning and service growth

About You

  • Strong background in clinical services, NHS insourcing, or healthcare service delivery
  • Experience working with or delivering insourcing models and/or neurodiversity assessment services
  • Proven track record in business development, service growth, or commercial leadership within healthcare
  • Strong understanding of NHS structures, commissioning environments, and provider pressures
  • Commercially astute, credible at senior stakeholder level, and comfortable operating autonomously
  • Strategic thinker who remains hands‑on and delivery‑focused
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Clinical background or previous hands‑on service delivery experience
  • Experience supporting service mobilisation, transformation, or pathway development
  • Exposure to leadership or people management environments within healthcare

Why Apply?

✅Opportunity to shape and grow a specialist NHS insourcing and clinical services portfolio

✅High‑visibility role with direct access to senior leadership

✅Clear progression as the service and division expand

✅Balance of strategic influence and practical delivery
