Role Overview
As a Security Communications Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety and security of the site. You will be responsible for monitoring access, handling communications, and ensuring all procedures are followed effectively.
What you’ll do:
- Handling all communications including telephone, radio, and emergency procedures
- Control of all personnel and vehicle access to and from site
- Managing visitors, including identity checks and liaising with site sponsors
- Monitoring site barriers and CCTV systems
- Checking fire, security, and other detection systems and taking appropriate action
- Maintaining accurate records and logs
- Conducting routine security patrols
- Reporting faults on equipment promptly
- Carrying out random vehicle speed checks
- Completing site muster reader checks in line with the monthly schedule
- Conducting KPI audits as required
- Maintaining the security vehicle as part of weekly routines
- General administrative duties
Day Shift Duties (06:00 – 18:00)
- Monitoring and ensuring all gatehouse equipment is functioning correctly
- Carrying out communication checks
- Processing all site visitors in line with procedures
- Conducting site speed checks
- Performing weekly Public Address system test (Thursdays at 08:00)
- Carrying out bag and vehicle searches as required
- Conducting random access pass audits
Night Shift Duties (18:00 – 06:00)
- Carrying out communication checks
- Checking security mailbox and preparing visitor list for the following day
- Processing visitors in line with procedures
- Monitoring all gatehouse equipment
- Conducting security patrols
- Collecting and filing daily hours reports
- Updating site safety boards with current statistics
What you’ll bring:
- A valid and in-date SIA Licence
- Proven experience as a corporate security officer or similar positions
- An eye for detail, with strong observational and communication skills
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively
- An understanding of security practices and processes
