The Role

  • Manage graphic design proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production.
  • Brief and advise on design style, format, print production and timescales.
  • Develop concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites.
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size.
  • Prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief.
  • Review layouts and suggest improvements.
  • Liaise with external printers regularly to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.
  • Leads the design of graphics, visualisations and written documents suited to particular audiences and purposes.
  • Produces high-quality artwork appropriate for different media and technological constraints.
  • Leads and is responsible for all photography and videography requirements of the institution.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design or similar qualification. A First Degree will be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Web Designing, Photography and Videography.
  • Good knowledge of industry standard design software, such as InDesign or Illustrator, plus photo editing, including Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with online publication and web technologies (e.g., HTML + CSS).
