Quantity Surveyor

GVR Solutions are currently representing a well-established and reputable main contractor based in Essex, seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. As a main contractor, they supply full modular turnkey services to the residential and accommodation sectors and work on new development projects up to £20m in project value.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial reports and provide advice to the management team
• Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
• Ensure commercial targets are achieved, including project and programme cost, quality, and time
• Delegate work where necessary and liaise with the team on project progress
• Factor in health and safety regulations
• Manage the costs of the project, budgeting and cash flows
• Carry out measurement for valuations
• Analyse progress and reporting
• Identify opportunities and risks
• Attend post-tender and pre-contract meetings
• Prepare summary reports for the client and other stakeholders

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge of Quantity Surveying, having worked for a main contractor or residential contractor
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Excellent analytical skills to make informed, balanced business decisions and reporting
• Self-sufficient
• Proven track record of delivering construction projects
• Excellent communication and oral skills
• Comfortable liaising with clients and senior management
• High‑performing individual
• Versatile
