Role
Our central finance support function is based in Hull, and we currently have a vacancy for a Group Credit Manager to report to the Finance Operations Director. What you’ll be doing
- Manage the credit control team, providing regular support, guidance and setting of performance targets.
- Minimise overdue debt and maximise cash collections.
- Monitor aged debt and ensure risks are within acceptable limits.
- Negotiate/approve payment terms.
- Work closely with sales, finance, legal and senior management.
- Produce weekly/monthly credit risk reports for the business and management, focusing on ageing reports, collection performances and bad debt risk.
- Oversee the full provision and debt recovery process, managing legal actions, payment plans and write‑offs, and coordinating with an external debt collection agency.
- Support on annual audits.
- Oversee the smooth integration of acquisitions into the central credit control team.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience of credit management.
- Effective organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a credit control team across multiple entities and regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to identify and evaluate financial risks.
- Ability to align credit management with broader business needs.
- Willingness to challenge credit‑term proposals requested by sales teams.
