Network Rail is offering an exciting Health & Safety Apprentice opportunity within the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) programme. This role is based in York and supports one of the UK’s largest rail infrastructure projects.
As a Health & Safety Apprentice, you will work within the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team to help deliver safe working practices and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supporting risk assessments
- Recording and reporting incidents
- Assisting with investigations
- Delivering safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Maintaining documentation for audits and inspections
- Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple sites
The role offers hands‑on experience, structured mentorship, and study support, leading to a Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment Technician apprenticeship, with long‑term career progression opportunities within Network Rail.
Full‑time Hybrid Health & Safety Apprentice role at Network Rail (York), starting September 2026. Salary £20,500 per year with excellent benefits and study support.
