Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer – Onsite

Location: Northampton, England, United Kingdom

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00–16:30, Friday 8:00–15:30

Employment type: Permanent, Full‑time

Responsibilities

• Investigating and resolving quality issues from shop floor through to customer delivery.
• Leading root‑cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
• Supporting internal audits and maintaining the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Using problem‑solving tools such as 8D, FMEA, and RCA to drive improvements.
• Working closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to enhance product and process quality.
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and right‑first‑time manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment – ideally heavy or industrial.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9001 systems and auditing.
• Practical experience with root‑cause analysis, 8D reports, FMEA, and CAPA.
• Confident working both on the shop floor and with customers or suppliers.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ideally qualified to HNC/HND or degree level in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (but equivalent experience is just as valuable).
