About the job: Childrens Services Recruitment Lead
JOB PURPOSE
To co-ordinate and lead on the internal and external recruitment campaigns and processes for Childrens Services to ensure we promote our roles effectively, have a good pool of applicants and successful candidates are on-boarded in an effective and timely way with a professional service delivered at all times.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, design, and run recruitment campaigns, working to recruit hard to fill roles.
- Process recruitment requests as they are approved, ensuring adverts are well written and placed in appropriate places.
- As a user of ATS ensure that the system is used to its full advantage and that all inputs are of a high quality. Provide coaching on the system to hiring managers as required.
- Ensure all approved roles are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Write compelling job advertisements for placement internally and externally e.g. Council website, and job boards that position Hillingdon as an employer of choice.
- Support all hiring managers in the recruitment process.
- Progress candidates and applicants through the system as required.
- In conjunction with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager ensure all recruitment processes are based on best practice and deliver an inclusive approach and ultimately a diverse workforce across all areas of protected characteristics.
- Ensure all recruitment communications are properly branded and reflect the vision and values of the organisation.
- Work with hiring managers to co-ordinate the interview and feedback process. This will entail making all the arrangements for interview and selection.
- Support any early careers initiatives when required.
- Deliver to the agreed service level agreements (SLAs) for recruitment services into the business service areas.
- Undertake pre-employment checks and the onboarding process to ensure candidates are on-boarding promptly and efficiently by following the department’s policy and processes.
- Work closely with recruitment managers to ensure a smooth induction package is in place for new starters.
- Run reports from the ATS as required.
- Be a super user of the ATS.
- Where directed, take a direct sourcing approach for specific roles.
- Answer recruitment related queries from managers, candidates and public as needed.
- Work with HR colleagues on specific recruitment campaigns as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognised Recruitment qualification e.g. REC
ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Experience of operating as a Recruitment Officer/consultant in a customer facing organisation
EXPERIENCE
- Experience within recruitment, either in-house or agency
- Experience of maximising recruitment systems and processes
- Experience of working with external agency contracts
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Experience of ATS systems
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presenting skills
- Highly analytical
- Highly organised and structured approach to work
- Excellent relationship builder, and able to manage stakeholders effectively through influencing and communication skills
- Experience of all Microsoft packages
