Roadside Vehicle Mechanic

Overview

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician. As part of the Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.

Location

East Kilbride, Inverness, Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Provide quick, confident solutions for roadside emergencies such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault‑finding.
• Start and finish at your driveway, working demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime.
• Use your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit.
• Deliver outstanding member service, combining technical expertise with a customer‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with proven technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• A customer‑focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
