The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Partner or ambitious Senior Associate/Legal Director to step into a Partner & Head of Contentious Trusts & Probate role. This is a strategic hire, offering the chance to shape and grow the firm's contentious private client practice. You will lead a specialist team handling a broad range of high-value and complex disputes, while playing a key role in the wider leadership of the group.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead and develop the firm's Contentious Trusts & Probate practice – Manage a varied caseload including will disputes, Inheritance Act claims, trust disputes, and estate administration conflicts – Drive business development initiatives and grow a sustainable pipeline of work – Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and referrers – Mentor, manage, and develop junior lawyers and contribute to team succession planning – Collaborate with other departments to maximise cross-referral opportunities – Contribute to the firm's strategic direction as part of the wider leadership team
The Candidate
– A qualified solicitor with significant experience in contentious trusts and probate matters – Strong technical expertise with a track record of handling complex, high-value disputes – Proven business development and client relationship skills – Experience managing and developing teams, with a genuine interest in mentoring others – Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive growth – An engaging and personable communicator who builds trust with clients and colleagues alike – Values-led, with a collaborative approach and alignment with the firm's culture
