The Opportunity
Sentinel is working exclusively with a leading consultancy to find an experienced professional (likely from a general practice or property surveying background), to join their specialist Property Consultancy team. This is a pivotal hire: you will play a dual role, driving new business development while delivering high-quality strategic property advice to a growing client portfolio across the UK health and public sector.
This team operates at the intersection of property expertise and complex institutional estates, advising some of the most significant NHS trusts, public bodies and government organisations in the UK on how to transform, optimise and maximise value from their assets. The team has strong existing client relationships, is actively expanding, and this role offers real scope to shape what comes next.
The Role
You will be an experienced property professional who is equally comfortable winning work as you are delivering it. Reporting into the Director, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients and commissions, while also playing a leading role in growing the team’s presence in the market.
Business Development & Client Relationships
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the NHS, public sector and private health markets
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, positioning the team as the go-to adviser for complex estate challenges
- Contribute to bids, proposals and presentations, bringing commercial creativity and sector insight
- Represent the team at client meetings, industry events and forums
Advisory & Delivery
- Provide strategic estate and property advice to clients across complex, multi-site portfolios
- Lead development appraisals, options appraisals and associated financial modelling to determine optimal estate use
- Deliver agency services including disposals, acquisitions and lettings
- Advise on lease management, legal title and occupation matters, including managing relationships with legal advisers
- Support clients on community and planning matters, liaising with local authorities and regeneration partners
- Work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team including cost consultants, healthcare planners, project managers, town planners and sustainability advisors
Team & Practice
- Mentor and support junior team members, with a clear pathway to taking on greater team leadership and management responsibility over time
- Contribute to the continued development and growth of the property consultancy practice
- Ensure quality and commercial rigour across all work delivered
Requirements
- Qualified to RICS standard (general practice/property background is desirable)
- Proven experience in property consultancy, asset management or estates advisory
- A track record of both delivering complex commissions and contributing to business development
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage client relationships at a senior level
- Familiarity with the unique challenges of public sector estates (funding mechanisms, governance, decision-making cycles)
- Experience working with or within NHS trusts, ICBs, NHSE or other health sector organisations is advantageous
Location
The team is London-based, and this role will involve regular travel to London (roughly once a month or as commissions require). We are open to candidates based across South England and beyond (the client has offices nationwide, and flexible working is fully supported).
