About the role
Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) is a faith‑based, collaborative trust delivering high‑quality education across Derbyshire. We are seeking two new trustees to support our board and the education, standards, audit and risk committees. As a trustee you will hold a strategic, non‑executive role, providing oversight, support and challenge to our executive team and ensuring the Trust delivers on its core mission: to provide excellent education rooted in Christian values for all children.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, non‑executive oversight, support and challenge to the executive team.
- Participate actively in board, committee and leadership meetings, contributing to governance decisions.
- Help the Trust meet its legal responsibilities and safeguard best practices, ensuring every child is safe, supported and able to thrive.
- Help shape the Trust’s future with integrity, ambition and a deep sense of service.
Qualifications & Experience
- Specific skills and experience in safeguarding and special educational needs (SEND).
- Expertise in audit, risk, human resources, legal or operational leadership.
- Clear understanding of the day‑to‑day realities of schools and the Trust’s responsibilities to protect children.
- Personal values and mindset aligned with fostering an inclusive, forward‑thinking governance culture.
