Delivery Director

Advancing Analytics are a market leader in delivering pioneering analytical solutions for customers worldwide. To thrive in today’s market, businesses need to implement AI built on a solid, reliable Data Platform, and we are looking for you to help us build it!
We’re looking for a Delivery Director who will be hands‑on leading client engagements directly, running complex programmes, and setting the standard for how we deliver. You’ll own the successful delivery of our data and AI projects across all clients, ensuring everything lands to scope, on time, and profitably with exceptional quality and client satisfaction at the heart of everything we do.
At the same time, you’ll be building the foundations that let us scale: the processes, the people, and the culture that takes what works at 100 people and makes it work at 400. You’ll act as the bridge between sales, technical leads, and customers, driving consistency, efficiency, and accountability across the portfolio while staying close enough to clients to spot risks early, build trust, and shape what comes next.
Key Responsibilities
Hands‑On Client Delivery
- Lead delivery on key client engagements directly acting as Programme or Project Manager on complex, high‑value work.
- Be a visible, trusted presence with clients: someone they call when things get complicated, not just when things go wrong.
- Shape Statements of Work, delivery plans, and engagement structures during pre‑sales and then own what you’ve committed to.
- Support strategic accounts in evolving from project‑based work to longer‑term, deeper partnerships.
Delivery Leadership & Standards
- Own the successful delivery of all client projects across Databricks, GenAI, Azure, and modern data platforms.
- Define and embed delivery methodologies that balance agility with structure, practical frameworks that PMs use.
- Run portfolio‑level delivery reviews: performance, risk, quality, and continuous improvement. Ensure all engagements meet agreed outcomes, timelines, quality standards, and client expectations.
- Build the delivery quality framework, artefacts, standards of done, testing expectations, and governance that scales.
- Drive a culture of ownership, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all delivery teams.
- Work with teams across the UK, EU and the US.
Commercial Accountability
- Manage project financials including margin, utilisation, revenue recognition, and forecasting accuracy.
- Ensure commercial commitments made in pre‑sales align with delivery reality and capacity.
- Partner with Finance to support accurate forecasting, billing, and financial reporting.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and Technical Leads – help us take what works today to the next level.
- Support our Learning & Development Manager in building career pathways, skills frameworks, and development plans for the delivery roles.
Client Engagement & Escalation
- Act as an escalation point for key accounts, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and relationships are strengthened.
- Support client engagement strategy, contributing to long‑term account growth and client satisfaction.
- Support strategic customer engagements, shaping longer‑term projects and deeper engagements.
Resource & Portfolio Planning
- Work with Workforce Planning and Competency Lead to ensure the right skills are aligned to the right projects, balancing utilisation with team well‑being.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Support the Growth team during pre‑sales, shaping Statements of Work, estimates, plans, and delivery commitments.
- Partner with Competency Leads to build repeatable delivery assets, templates, and accelerators.
- Work closely with Marketing to support case studies, delivery stories, and thought leadership.
Tooling, Systems & Insight
- Own and optimise delivery tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps).
- Build dashboards, KPIs, and insight reporting in tools such as Kantata to give the leadership team clear visibility of delivery health, risk, forecast, and performance.
- Own our internal pricing software. Support our Head of Sales with GTM and pricing support.
Skills / Approaches
- Proven hands‑on delivery experience – you’ve run complex projects and programmes yourself, not just managed people who did.
- Background in consulting or professional services, ideally in data, analytics, or cloud transformation.
- Strong commercial acumen. Confident managing project budgets, margins, and contractual obligations.
- Experience building, leading, and mentoring delivery and technical teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, able to balance client needs with delivery realities.
- Deep familiarity with Agile practices and modern cloud/data platforms (Databricks, Azure, Fabric, or similar).
Benefits
- Industry matching Maternity & Paternity policy
- Private Medical & Dental Care plus Eye care scheme
- Health & Well‑being supplement
- 25 Days Annual Leave, Birthday Leave & Charity Leave
- Away days with the team
- Discretionary Annual Bonus Scheme
- Flexible Working Hours
- Electric Car Scheme
