Long established building contractor with a large pipeline of work urgently requires a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager for its busy office in SE London.
The company predominantly builds apartment blocks for Local Authorities and Residential Providers at an affordable specification across London and Greater London. The apartments range from 8 to 18 storeys. All work is won through competitive tendering and bidding, for which the contractor is highly successful.
The ideal candidate is a time‑served quantity surveyor who has progressed from Assistant/Intermediate/Senior levels to a Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager role, or is ready to step up to that responsibility. The role requires experience with a medium‑sized main contractor and a solid understanding of the tight margins typical of the building‑contracting market.
This is an exciting, rewarding role with a good mix of projects. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be offered progressive opportunities to become Commercial Director and to shape the commercial structure of the company.
