- Based at Watchet Library
- An average of 7 hours per week based on a two‑week timetable:
- Week 1 – Monday 1.55 p.m. – 4.35 p.m., Tuesday 10.25 a.m. – 1.05 p.m., Saturday 10.25 a.m. – 1.05 p.m.
- Week 2 – Monday 1.55 p.m. – 4.35 p.m., Tuesday 9.45 a.m. – 1.05 p.m.
- Please be aware this is a lone‑working position
- 25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) pro‑rated for part‑time
- Permanent
- This is a customer‑facing role, so home working is not possible
- We are only able to proceed with candidates who already have the right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship
What will I be doing?
From day one, you’ll be working in a customer‑centred, busy community hub that serves a diverse range of people, partners and organisations. Your day‑to‑day work will involve:
- Working in a customer‑centred environment, a busy community hub that services a diverse range of people, partners and organisations
- Responding to a wide range of library and information enquiries, including providing support on how to access self‑service tools or digital devices
- Promoting Library Service Resources
- Proactively planning, delivering and promoting library activities such as Children’s Story Times, LEGO groups, craft activities, health and wellbeing events, etc.
- Working alongside volunteers, providing a positive volunteering experience
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

- Are able to work in a team, dealing with enquiries and requests, planning and delivering interactive activities and promoting our services
- Can encourage the love of reading through a range of promotional activities in person and online
- Are confident in the use of digital technology, as you will be helping customers to use our equipment and their own

The salary for this role is £4,764 – £4,916 per annum.
