Our ELCAS approved LGV 2 Cat C course will train you to drive, maintain and securely couple the trailer of a full arctic lorry throughout your 17.5 hours of training. The course includes the following:
- 17.5 hours of category C driver training including the 3a and 3b driving tests
The LGV Rigid (Category C) Licence Training & Test course trains people to drive large, rigid-bodied goods vehicles. It’s ideal for those starting a career in transport, logistics, or construction. You must be at least 18 years old and hold a full UK Category B (car) licence to apply. The course suits new drivers, career changers, ex-military personnel, and workers who need an LGV licence for their job.
What can you drive?
With a Cat C licence, you can drive rigid vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, up to 32 tonnes. These include box trucks, tippers, tankers, and refuse lorries—vehicles where the cab and cargo are a single unit. This licence does not cover articulated lorries; those require a Cat C+E licence.
The training offers a clear path into secure and well-paid driving jobs. It meets the growing demand for qualified drivers across many industries. Whether you’re just starting or want to upgrade your skills, the Cat C licence opens doors in the commercial driving world.
