Contract Furniture Designer (Visualise)
IR35 Status: Outside
Hourly: Circa £35 DOE
Contract Term: 6 months
Location: Office based in Nottingham
Join a leading furniture solutions supplier specialising in the hospitality, healthcare, and education sectors. From bespoke seating and tables to cabinetry, they provide comprehensive services from design, space planning, and professional installation—ensuring functional and aesthetic excellence for pubs, hotels, and commercial environments.
Due to a company-wide transition to SOLIDWORKS, our client is currently upskilling their internal design team. They require an experienced Contract Designer with a heavy bias toward SOLIDWORKS Visualise to bridge the gap during this transition. You will be responsible for producing high-quality front-end renders and sketches to maintain project timelines while acting as a technical mentor for the permanent team.
Responsibilities
- Create photorealistic renders using SOLIDWORKS Visualise to support client pitches and project concepts
- Produce initial sketches and design concepts for bespoke hospitality and commercial furniture
- Assist the wider team with production drawings and layouts as they move to a SOLIDWORKS workflow
- Act as a “SOLIDWORKS Champion,” supporting and upskilling the current design team through the software transition
Experiences Required
- Expert-level proficiency in SOLIDWORKS Visualise is essential
- Proven experience in Furniture Design (specifically bespoke, contract, or hospitality)
- A strong portfolio demonstrating high-end renders and the ability to communicate complex design ideas effectively
- You are expected to provide your own workstation and SOLIDWORKS license (Note: A spare SOLIDWORKS Visualise license can be provided for the first 3–4 months if required)
