Responsibilities
- Assess functional needs of adults in their home environment, recommend and implement an occupational therapy plan to optimise function and quality of life.
- Ensure that assessment and intervention are culturally sensitive.
- Contribute to the overall operation of the service.
- Support the team’s development in specific areas of community occupational therapy (e.g., intake and duty, complex manual handling, major adaptations).
- Supervise and mentor occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians.
- Assess and support clients through the major adaptation process, including liaising with housing and surveyors, and working with council.
Qualifications & Experience
Highly specialist Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of working in community adult social care. Experience in adult social care including the major adaptations process and complex manual handling. Skilled with standard and specialist equipment. Experience teaching others and delivering presentations. Highly effective communicator with the ability to lead and motivate a team. Offers line management and supervision to occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians.
