Location: SheffieldContract Type: 3 MonthsPay: £20-£25 per hour (DOE)

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Operator, or General Engineer to join a growing engineering business in Sheffield. This role is offered on a temp‑to‑perm basis, allowing both parties to assess long‑term suitability before transitioning into a permanent position.

The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, adaptable, and capable of working across a range of engineering tasks, with a strong foundation in machining and general workshop practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machinery (turning and/or milling) to produce high‑quality components.
• Carry out general engineering tasks including machining, fitting, and basic fabrication.
• Support prototyping and small‑batch production work.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Assist with workshop maintenance and general engineering support as required.
• Contribute to problem‑solving and continuous improvement within the workshop.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator, Machinist, or General Engineer.
• Ability to operate mills and lathes (CNC and/or manual).
• Strong understanding of general engineering principles.
• Basic welding or fabrication experience beneficial.
• Exposure to hydraulics or mechanical systems advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
