Airport Operations Manager
Location: Belfast International Airport (Northern Ireland)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum + benefits
Working Format: Monday – Friday onsite
Start date: Immediately
We are seeking an experienced Airport Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate the security operations at Belfast International Airport. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the operational, administrative, commercial, financial and human resource aspects of the airport security operation, ensuring compliance with CAA regulations and client requirements.
You will lead a dedicated site team, drive operational excellence, maintain compliance standards, and act as the primary point of contact for client interactions, reporting, and performance assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop the airport security team, driving operational efficiency and high standards of service.
- Manage operational strategy, goal setting, staffing, and scheduling across all security functions (CSA, OOG, HBS, CP1).
- Oversee SOP implementation, operational change control, and internal communications.
- Manage and respond to internal and external complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor aviation security compliance standards, operational performance, and KPIs.
- Analyse operational data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Provide guidance to the Training Team and HR Advisor to implement site-specific instructions.
- Lead recruitment, succession planning, performance evaluations, and HR processes in line with company policy.
- Manage budgets, P&L, accurate site billing, and cost-effective resource allocation.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and risk management, promoting a safety-first culture.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings and providing sector expertise.
Key Requirements:
- ASM qualification
- Ideally 3 years’ aviation experience
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and present confidently.
- IT literacy and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
