Construction Manager – Central London Project
Location: Central London (Site-Based)
Working Hours: Monday–Friday 08:00–18:00 | Saturday 08:00–13:00
Reporting to: Project Director
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile project in Central London. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing all stages of the construction process, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and health & safety.
You will play a pivotal role in coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Main Duties / Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure successful project delivery
- Lead progress meetings and maintain strong client relationships
- Manage subcontractors, procurement processes, and program delivery
- Report program and site activities in professional approach
- Monitor budgets, variations, and cost reporting alongside the commercial team
- Drive progress to meet key milestones and client expectations
- Liaise with local authorities to secure necessary permits and licenses
- Ensure compliance with all UK construction regulations and standards
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and wider project stakeholders
- Manage and support site teams, including recruitment and supervision where required
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and reports
- Ensure smooth project handover, including all commissioning and completion requirements
- Promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Uphold company quality management systems and ensure team adherence
- Support pre-construction and tender activities where required
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience managing day-to-day operations on complex construction projects
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent project planning and organizational abilities
- Experience in budget management and cost control
- Solid understanding of UK construction regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Work to right in UK
Desirable:
- Experience in healthcare projects
- Background in delivering projects within Central London or similar urban environments
