Reliability / PPM Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

Monday–Friday Days | Flexible Hours | £50,000

We’re looking for a mechanically biased Reliability / PPM Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is centred around planned maintenance, with a strong focus on keeping all machinery and production lines running at optimal performance.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of PPM activities across site, carrying out detailed mechanical maintenance, including strip-downs, inspections, and rebuilds to maximise equipment reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

-Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across all production lines and machinery

-Carry out mechanical strip-downs, inspections, and rebuilds of equipment

-Identify wear, potential failures, and proactively resolve issues before breakdowns occur

-Support fault finding and repairs when required

-Continuously improve PPM schedules to enhance reliability and performance

-Accurately record all maintenance activities using a CMMS system

-Work closely with production to minimise downtime and disruption

-Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards

About You

-Time-served mechanical engineer or qualified to NVQ Level 3 / HNC (or equivalent)

-Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within manufacturing

-Experienced in PPM, strip-downs, and equipment rebuilds

-Good understanding of machinery, components, and failure modes

-Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement

-Able to work independently and manage workload effectively

-Good communication and record-keeping skills
