We are working with a highly regarded and forward‑thinking Estate to appoint an Estate Surveyor to join their Commercial & Energy team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Surveyor (ideally 1–5 years’ PQE) who is looking to build a long‑term career at the intersection of energy infrastructure, commercial property and estate management, while contributing meaningfully to sustainability and future‑focused land use.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Energy, the Estate Surveyor will take responsibility for the management, optimisation and development of the Estate’s energy portfolio, alongside supporting the effective management of commercial property assets.

Based at the Estate’s offices, the role plays a key part in delivering the organisation’s 2030 Strategy, supporting investment decision‑making, asset performance and long‑term value creation. • Managing commercial property matters including lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, service charges, acquisitions and disposals
  • Assisting with valuation of energy and commercial assets (accounting, taxation, insurance and estate purposes)
  • Supporting budgeting, financial monitoring and asset performance reporting
  • Maintaining and developing property and energy management systems
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and health & safety requirements
  • Preparing reports, business cases, presentations and digital mapping/plans
  • Supporting the wider Leadership, Property and Land teams as required

The Ideal Candidate

We are keen to speak with motivated and commercially astute surveyors who are comfortable working across technical, operational and strategic challenges. You will enjoy managing multiple assets and projects, taking ownership and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will ideally offer:

  • Chartered Surveyor status (RICS), ideally 1–5 years’ PQE
  • Experience in energy assets, infrastructure or commercial property (or a strong transferable skill set)
  • Asset management and performance optimisation experience
  • Knowledge of grid connections and liaison with DNOs
  • Familiarity with UK planning, regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Strong commercial awareness, including contracts and contractor management
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive, detail‑focused and safety‑conscious approach

Why Apply?

  • A genuinely varied role combining energy, property and strategic estate management
  • Exposure to renewable energy and future development projects
  • A supportive, professional working environment with strong leadership
  • Competitive benefits package including:
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension contributions
  • Health and life insurance
