Workshop Engineer (Mechanical)

Our client is a globally recognised engineering organisation delivering specialist vehicle solutions to a highly regulated and technically demanding sector. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, they are now looking to welcome a Workshop Engineer (Mechanical) into their growing team.

This is an opportunity to join a business where your work directly contributes to complex, bespoke engineering builds, and where your skills can develop into niche expertise.

Why This Role is Great

This isn’t just assembly work, it’s an opportunity to be deeply involved in the creation of highly specialised vehicles from start to finish.

  • Take ownership of building and assembling bespoke mechanical systems, seeing projects through from concept to completion
  • Develop a strong understanding of how complex vehicles function, not just how they’re put together
  • Play a key role in final testing and quality checks, ensuring everything performs exactly as it should
  • Gain exposure to specialist systems and components, broadening your engineering capabilities
  • Work on varied builds that keep your day-to-day work engaging and technically rewarding

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys practical engineering and takes pride in producing high-quality work. You might already have experience in vehicle or plant engineering, or be looking to transfer your skills into a more specialised field.

You’ll likely bring experience or interest in:

  • Working with mechanical assemblies or vehicle builds (HGV, plant, or similar backgrounds are highly valued)
  • Using a wide range of hand and power tools confidently
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings or schematics
  • Carrying out basic fabrication tasks
  • Understanding and working within health & safety guidelines

It would be great (but not essential) if you’ve had exposure to:

  • Pneumatic or hydraulic systems
  • Welding techniques such as MIG or TIG
  • Supervisory or mentoring responsibilities

You’ll also be open to learning new skills, including specialist training required for certain engineering environments.

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive salary, based on your experience
  • Regular overtime opportunities to boost earnings
  • Structured working hours with an early Friday finish
  • Generous holiday allowance, increasing with service
  • Monthly attendance bonus
  • Ongoing training and development within a highly specialised field
  • The chance to join a respected organisation with a strong global presence

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you’re looking for a role where your mechanical skills can evolve, your work has real impact, and no two days feel the same, this could be the opportunity for you.

Apply today and take your engineering career in a new direction.
