I am seeking a Senior Electronic Warfare Scientist / Engineer to join a highly skilled team delivering cutting-edge research and development in radar, and electronic warfare technologies.
You will be part of a collaborative team of around 40 scientists and engineers, playing a key role in shaping next-generation defence capabilities. This is a technically challenging and rewarding position where you’ll lead complex R&D projects, engage directly with customers, and drive innovation across advanced sensing and signal processing domains.
The Role
Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will:
- Lead and deliver complex electronic warfare and radar engineering projects
- Develop and implement advanced signal processing and algorithmic solutions
- Support system design, modelling, testing, and performance evaluation activities
- Engage directly with defence customers to define requirements and present outputs
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to innovation, capability development, and future business opportunities
What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience:
- Strong expertise in electronic warfare and/or radar systems, ideally within defence environments
- Experience in areas such as signal processing, radar waveform design, modelling, or algorithm development
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate complex engineering activities
- Experience producing technical reports and deliverables
- Track record in supporting or leading bids for R&D programmes
- Excellent problem-solving skills applied to complex technical challenges
- Experience working closely with customers and stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly
Desirable Experience:
- Algorithm development using MATLAB and/or Python
- Exposure to machine learning / AI applications
- Direction finding antenna systems
- Radar backend processing and advanced algorithm research
- Controlled software development environments
- Experience running trials, analysing data, and assessing system performance
- Previous work with defence customers and suppliers
Qualifications:
- Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
