About the role

As a Warehouse Operator, and part of the logistics team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our inventory operations.

You will be responsible for supporting the storage, organisation, and tracking of materials and components essential to our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for assembling, organising, and packaging components into kits for production. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company standards in inventory management and Production Order fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Kitting

  • Pick parts into kits according to daily and weekly picklists issued by Production Controllers.
  • Verify part number and bin location to ensure accurate selection of the picklist.
  • Gather and package specific components into kits in line with production paperwork and adhere to stock process and procedures.

Labelling and Documentation

  • Accurately label and document all kitted items, updating inventory using Pick list consumption process.
  • Pack parts appropriately to prevent damaged during storage and transportation.
  • Clearly labelling kit boxes to ensure parts are correctly identified.

Inventory Control & Quality

  • Support monitoring and managing stock levels, report shortages, and ensure all kit components are in good condition.
  • Support regular cycle counts and stock takes to enable high stock accuracy.
  • Ensure that all kits meet quality standards and specifications before issuing.
  • Follow company safety policies, maintain a clean workspace, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable documentation.
  • Comply with all health and safety policies and report any hazards or incidents promptly, leading by example.

Continuous Improvement and Support

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the wider logistics activities as and when required. Examples of what this could include is: goods in bookings, processing warehouse receipts on ERP system, managing supplier returns, and creating delivery notes. Weekly, monthly and yearly stock take activities.

Skills Required

  • Competent in using computers and business systems (e.g., ERP, inventory, and communication tools).
  • Ability to carry out manual work daily, and adhere to manual handling regulations
  • Holds a valid forklift license or is willing to undertake forklift training as required.
  • Holds a valid UK driving license and be comfortable driving larger vehicles.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and also able to work alone, supporting colleagues and assisting with additional tasks as required by the business.
  • Work on own initiative and able to follow instructions
  • Demonstrate accountability and a sense of responsibility
  • Resilience in getting problems solved in a timely manner and working in a reactive environment
  • Ensures precision in all aspects of work, from documentation to physical handling of materials.
  • Be willing to work across multiple sites
