Community Relations Manager – Renewable Energy (6-Month FTC)
Hybrid (UK-based, with travel as required)
Climate17 is working with a leading renewable energy developer to appoint a Community Relations Manager on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects, including solar PV and energy storage.
The Role
You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders impacted by development projects. Working closely with internal teams, you’ll help ensure effective communication, engagement, and delivery of community-focused initiatives across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with local communities, stakeholders, and representatives throughout development, construction, and operation phases
- Develop and deliver project-specific community engagement strategies
- Lead on community benefit initiatives and programmes
- Organise and attend community engagement events
- Collaborate with development, construction, and operations teams to ensure clear and timely communication
- Manage wider community initiatives such as sponsorships and charitable activities
- Support digital engagement, including website and social media content
- Deliver online campaigns to inform and build support for projects
- Draft press releases and act as a point of contact for media enquiries
- Support landowner engagement where required
- Contribute to project planning, including risk identification and escalation
- Track, document, and report on engagement activities
- Support senior stakeholders with reporting to leadership and external parties
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Stay informed on industry developments, policy, and best practice
- Adhere to company health, safety, quality, environmental, and sustainability standards
- Travel to project sites across the UK as required
About You
You’ll be an effective communicator with experience in stakeholder engagement, ideally within infrastructure, energy, or development projects. You’ll be proactive, organised, and confident managing relationships across a wide range of audiences.
