Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Hayle. As a Support Worker, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life. This role requires you to be a driver.
Responsibilities
- Provide support with daily activities and emotional support to individuals with learning disabilities.
- Build meaningful relationships through excellent communication.
- Work flexibly across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Contribute to a person-centered approach that respects individual needs and preferences.
- Support with 24-hour care services as part of rotation planning (rotas prepared at least 4 weeks in advance).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Driver required for the role.
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Contract and Benefits
- Contract options: Part-time, 10 hours.
- Sleep-in option available with an hourly rate of £12.60.
- All roles subject to enhanced DBS and references.
- Rotas prepared at least 4 weeks in advance to help planning personal and social life.
