We are Mears Supported Living Ltd, providing a range of care and support services to people in the community and in their own homes, to enable them to stay as independent as possible.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, fun, and empathetic support worker to join our team in the Wishaw area. The role supports a service user living in his own home with a 24/7 service. Shift pattern consists of long day and sleep‑over shifts, with staff required to work every second weekend. Full‑time and part‑time positions are available.
Shift Patterns
Long day shift: 9 am – 9 pm (community hours). Sleep shift: 9 pm – 9 am (sleep hours). Staff are required on shift every second weekend.
Key Responsibilities
- Household tasks & maintenance of tenancy
- Personal care support
- Assistance with medication
- Preparation and serving nutritious meals
- Social support of service user’s choice
- Supporting to arranged appointments
About the Service User
The service user is 26 years old, diagnosed with Chromosome 18 deletion syndrome and has a moderate learning disability and autism. He is mobile and non‑verbal, using assistive technology and communication skills built with the current team. Staff must support, reassure, and follow the behaviour support plan and PRN protocol to ensure safety, with significant input from the learning disability team, family, and social work.
