We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Senior Financial Planner to join our team. You will be a Chartered Financial Planner with a minimum of 5-10 years’ advisory experience and a proven track record of client acquisition and retention. You will already possess an established network of referees and professional contacts in the area. This is a significant opportunity to help drive growth, mentor junior colleagues, and further elevate the reputation of Benchmark Financial Planning.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver holistic, unbiased financial planning services to a portfolio of affluent clients, providing advice across investments, pensions, protection, and tax planning
  • Maintain and grow your network of professional connections (solicitors, accountants, etc.) and leverage existing relationships for business development and referrals
  • Lead client meetings, complete detailed fact finds, and develop bespoke financial plans tailored to client needs, objectives, and circumstances
  • Oversee complex technical cases and act as a subject matter expert for the team
  • Ensure the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical advice at all times
  • Play a key role in business development, representing Benchmark Financial Planning at industry and professional networking events, and driving new client opportunities
  • Mentor, guide, and support the development of junior planners and paraplanners
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives, operational improvements, and the growth of the business
  • Remain abreast of technical, legislative, and market developments and share best practice with colleagues

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Chartered Financial Planner status (CII or equivalent) – essential
  • Minimum five years’ experience providing regulated financial advice to clients (ideally 10+)
  • Demonstrable track record of business development via existing referral sources and professional connections
  • Comprehensive technical expertise in pensions, investments, estate planning, and taxation
  • Strong understanding of compliance procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Outstanding interpersonal, relationship management, and presentation skills
  • Skilled user of financial planning technology, back office systems, and MS Office Suite

The base

You’ll be based within our Midlands hub, with offices in Shrewsbury, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham. We are open to reviewing location across all three offices, with regular presence expected across the hub as required.
