Goodman Masson are partnering with a growing infrastructure investment platform to recruit a Fund Controller / VP into their London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA‑qualified finance professional to join a growing function within the investment division, taking a broad, hands‑on role across fund operations, investor reporting, and transaction support.
The platform manages multiple funds investing across sectors such as energy, transport, utilities, digital infrastructure, and healthcare. Sitting within the deal team, this role provides exposure to investment structures, acquisitions, and add‑on activity, supporting decision‑making through financial oversight and analysis. This makes it a rare opportunity to gain close visibility of investment activity while focusing on fund finance at a senior level.
The Fund Controller team plays a central role in operational oversight, including fund performance, cashflow management, co‑investment and carried interest calculations, and supporting acquisition and add‑on structuring. Bookkeeping is outsourced, making this a higher‑value, analytical role focused on connecting the dots, providing insight, and influencing decision‑making.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing investor reporting and fund metrics, including detailed asset analysis;
- Supporting the structuring of acquisitions, add‑ons, and follow‑on investments;
- Determining accounting treatment for new investments and liaising with fund administrators;
- Managing co‑investment and carried interest calculations;
- Forecasting fund cashflows and maintaining fund models;
- Supporting fund facilities and co‑investment allocation mechanics.
Candidate profile:
- ACA (or equivalent – practice trained) qualified with PQE in fund finance, private equity, or infrastructure investments;
- Experience with closed‑end vehicles, fund LPAs, tax, legal, and regulatory frameworks;
- Strong investor reporting, fund performance monitoring, and transaction structuring experience;
- IFRS, carry, and co‑invest experience;
- Commercially minded, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently;
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams.
The role offers:
- Hybrid working model with office/home flexibility.
- Exposure to a growing fund platform and direct insight into investment activity through close partnership with the deal team;
- Opportunity to develop within a high‑performing, meritocratic team and take ownership of a broad, evolving role.
This is a rare chance to join a dynamic, growing fund finance function and play a central role in fund operations, transaction support, and investor reporting while gaining unique visibility of investment activity at the interface of finance and the deal team.
