Job responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Provide a full range of NHS general medical services to registered and temporary patients
  • Undertake face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Manage acute, chronic, and complex conditions in line with NICE guidance
  • Deliver safe prescribing in accordance with local and national policies
  • Undertake clinical administration, including:
    • Reviewing results
    • Managing repeat prescriptions
  • Participate in duty doctor rota (1 day per week)
  • Ensure accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web

Quality & Safety

  • Maintain compliance with CQC standards (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led)
  • Clinical audit
  • Quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NICE guidance and best practice

Practice & PCN Contribution

  • Engage in practice meetings and multidisciplinary team working
  • Contribute to service development and innovation within the practice
  • Support delivery of PCN objectives and enhanced services
  • Participate in local system working across South West London ICB

Teaching & Supervision (Optional)

  • Support training of GP trainees, medical students, allied health professionals
  • Contribute to a learning culture within the practice

Extended Roles (Optional)

  • Opportunity to work additional sessions within Extended Access Hub (Queen Marys Hospital)
  • Engage in leadership or specialist interest roles

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
  • Evidence of continued professional development (CPD)
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Interest in service development and innovation
  • Experience in teaching or supervision
  • Previous experience within a PCN or extended access setting
