Food Safety Officer

Location: Sussex, 1-2 days on site the rest from home (open to evenings & weekends)

Rate: £45 per hour (outside IR35) or per inspection (negotiable)

We are seeking an experienced Food Safety Officer to support a local authority in Sussex on a 3-month contract.

The successful contractor will focus on:

• Carrying out inspections of Category C‑D premises
• Undertaking work on unrated premises
• Delivering high‑quality and compliant inspection reports

Requirements:

• EHRB Registration or Higher Certificate in Food Control (or equivalent)
• Proven experience delivering food hygiene inspections for local authorities
• Ability to work independently and to regulatory standards

Contract details:

• Outside IR35
• £45 per hour OR per inspection (negotiable)
• 1–2 days per week in‑area
• Flexible working options, including evenings and weekends
